Purely by accident I had one of the setting wrong in DVD2SVCD and had the bitrate set to fit upto 90minutes on one 800Mb CD, without knowing I ripped , encoded and ended up with a single Bin/Cue file for the Movie Shrek !
Now the quality is extremely good, but is this just cause it's an animated movie ? Normally I get 60mins on one CD without problems, LOTR, The Mummy, Memento etc. etc.
Just curious more than anything![]()

I have just started with SVCD and would like to know what settings you are using to get even 60 mins on one cd, so far I can only get 25mins. Are you using TMPGenc and VCD Easy?

I thought he was normally getting 60mins on one cd not just with animations. That is really what I want to do.

I have another post that is talking about converting animation (specifically a DVD of Charlie Brown Halloween), which from my experience so far is GREATLY different then doing computer animation (i.e. Toy Story, Shrek, Monster's inc). Those videos have converted flawlessly with DVD2SVCD, however, the Charlie Brown movie (old cartoons) have bad quality during motion scenes (linus jumping into the pile of leaves part). - sorry a little off subject.
More than likely, Panther is using VBR. With certain movies 1 CD can be done. -
Using DVD2SVCD, under the bitrate tab, I have 90 to 110mins set to use 2 x 800mb CD's, then when I let it encode (I'm using CCE 2.5SP) it cuts the files at 795MB with I then burn with VCDEasy. Works a treat for me.
The quality is amazing, ripped, encoded and burned about a dozen SVCD movies like this with only 2 (the Matrix and Lord of the Rings) on more than 2 CD's.
I do have it set to VBR, 4 Passes, takes some time, but it's worth itPanther

hi, what do you mean by "I do have it set to VBR, 4 Passes"? im new to svcd and dont know these settings.

The 4 pass is an option with CCE as your encoder. Set it in DVD2SVCD at the bottom left under the encoder tab.
