  1. Hello,

I have been unsucessfully trying to use the trial version of Ulead VideoStudio to create home DVDs that will play on my Xbox (the media is good). The DVDs work fine in a Panasonic DVD player (no model number, sorry).

Player: Modified Xbox with DVD playback kit (regular rented DVDs
    work fine)

Media: Pioneer DVD-RW (have successfully used to play Xbox games)

Software: Ulead Video Studio Trail, Ulead DVD Workshop Trial.

DVD Writer System: Pioneer A-04, 1.3 Ghz AMD, 256MB RAM, Windows 2000

Am I doing something inherently wrong? Is it right to assume that since it plays in the Panasonic the disk should play in all DVD players? (as long as they can read the media type). I know DVD authoring can be really tricky so any useful info would be aprreciated (I am a newbie).

  2. ok all my dvd-r's play in my xbox.............

heres a list of things that i have used or things that might be useful to u

i have used smart ripper, and dvd decrypter to rip
i have used ifoedit many times
i've used spruce up to author many different dvds
***and i have used prassi primo dvd to burn to dvd-r
***i have used nero to burn but MY XBOX DOESNT RECONIZE DVD-r BURNED WITH THE LATEST VERSION OF NERO
all my prassi burned dvd-r's play

i have used cheap media like princo which works on xbox, other inexpensive media like ritek works also

but the only problem ive had with my xbox not playing burned dvd-r's is when i used nero...so i chucked it out my window and now only use prassi

  3. Thanks for the tips Eatin. I have some questions: did the DVDs you burned that did not work on the xbox work on a regular DVD player?

Is it possible that the Xbox will read my DVD-RW for games but not read the same DVD-RW for home made movies? (these movies are from my DV CAM).

The disks I am using are the stock ones that came with the Pioneer A-04.
