  1. Hi,

    A cry for help.

I never guessed that my desire to convert VHS tapes to digital media could be the base of headaches..

I captured the video in VirtualDUB using codec Hufyuv in the format 640x480. Somewhere I read that this forumat is the best.
Oke. the first part of 34 minutes wat about 10 Gigs. Then I wanted to split this (too large) file into more 'manageble' pieces and splitted the file into 8 chapters (seperate files).
To make a nice product the chapters should fade in and out, maybe some titles; some nice things.... right .....??

Start Pinnacle Studio 7 and open a file. Studio tries to detect scenes (progress bar) AND DIES...... damn.

Somewhere there was a demo of vegas.. let's try vegas... the same result.

Who can tell me what I am doing wrong, or give me an indication where to look.

    Thanks

Why not try one of the Divx codecs? They compress better. Then see if the quality and size of the video is more acceptable and manageable, respectively.
    Hello.
