    Just wondering if there is a program that tells me different types of MPEG files (Or any video files for that matter).
    I have a number of video files on my puter but some wont play and yet they all say they are Mpeg's

    If you launch TMPGEnc, select File-->New Project, load your MPEG file, it will tell you what kind of MPEG file you have.
