None of the guides for burning mention including an AUDIO_TS folder in the DVD-R directory. I know that commecial DVDs use it for "compatibility" (don't get it). Any comments?

With Nero and you use the DVD-Video, Nero will
put both AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders.
If you use the UDF/ISO, you should include the AUDIO_TS
just to make sure it will work on all DVD players.

The Audio_ts folder is there for DVD-Audio use but Ive noticed that most players dont care wether it is there or not.. Ive even got some original DVDs where its missing. But hey...chuck it on if you want. !
