  1. I want to make a double feature disc with SpruceUp (but will use Maestro if necessary).

One of the movies is anamorphic, the other is standard letterbox. If I create a disc of these two movies, is there any way to make it so that the anamorphic movie remains anamorphic, and the standard movie remains the same? I don't think there's any way to make the standard movie anamorphic as well, is there?

Or when you view the disc's IFO file, will both movie title sets appear, and you can pick one as 16:9, and the other as 4:3?

    Thanks for the help!

    You are correct.

I did it recently with Monsters Inc. The Movie was 16:9 and the shorts were 4:3. I created a M2V and AC3 for the movie and each short. Imported them into SpruceUp and created a Title set. Each video was assigned a corresponding IFO file. Just open each IFO you should see “Title Set (Movie) attributes:”. Double click “Video: MPEG-2 720x480.......” to open the video attributes. In the “Aspect Ratio” box check “16:9” or 4:3 based on your requirements.

Don't know if you can mix aspect types with SpruceUp properly, but you can with uLead DVD Workshop 1.2. DVD Half Res or 352x480 is a valid DVD resolution, so there's no problem doing that. (Make sure when creating the image to check the "do not convert compliant file" checkbox).

I have a couple of DVD's where I've been able to fit three half DVD or (Half D1) movies onto it .....

A word of caution, not all software DVD players handle the aspect ratio properly on Half D1, especially WinDVD 3.x, but I haven't had any consumer players that have had any issues .....

  4. Thanks for your help! I checked the IFO files for Titles 1 and 2. It is possible to change the aspect ratio of each file! Yippee!
