  1. i always convert my .avi files to mpeg2 first then merged them..... is it better to join the .avi files first then convert it.... and what program would i use to do that?????

  2. I always join my .avi files in adobe premiere, then export it as .avi, uncompressed, then encode to .mpg using TMPGEnc. It retains much of the original quality, and the file size is much more managable.

  3. is there another program that does that.... also is i do get primere and do that does it let that .avi file get converted using cce..... i cant get tht dam program to work

    VirtualDub is a freeware program that will allow you to join your .avi files.

    You can then indirectly frameserve the video to CCE, without the need to save out an intermediate uncompressed file.

    It would be better to join the AVI's first, sort out all the problems witth AVI's, these are easier to edit.
