I was told there is a program that uses a number of passes to assist in getting a real clean finnish to the copy, I have seen 2 copies of the same movie both on svcd and one is almost dvd quality ,
second question . i am using xp and want to use my pinnical vcd card to full frame , the wdm capture drivers , in a word stuff up xp . any other suggestions.
third . i have a lg gdr8161b dvd player that has 2 more uses before it locks up on a selected number.. DVD geini does not work.. again any assistance please

Unfortunately, I can only answer the first question. I'm sure you are talking about multipass VBR (you can specify how many passes to do.) Cinema Craft Encoder (CCE) can do it but you must have the SP or Pro version. I've heard the Lite version does not have this option. The Pro version goes for about $2,000.
TMPGenc has a 2-Pass VBR. I use this all the time and I do get very good results from a good quality avi file.
