Permanent Subtitles without reencoding

I have already encoded my video, but I did not think to add the subtitles during the encoding process..I want permanent subtitles, none of that subripper and all that junk which gives me 30 secs delays...Is there a way to do this without having to reencode the whole video again? Thanks.
