    Hi
Can anyone explain why my AverTv Studio capture card appears at IRQ 11 and 19 ??? Why are there 2 entries ??
I have tried uninstalling one and it just returns.
I have no problems with my card and no conflicts in device manager.
I am just confused why this is the case.

    Cheers

    afternoon all,

    fozzee,
it might be that you AverTV card USES two IRQs, ie are
    * Video
    * Audio

On my ATW and WTVGO cards, they both require an IRQ for both Vidoe and Audio.
However, they can and usually do share the same IRQ, BUT, you may have some
OTHER IRQ issue that you're not aware of, and so, you're seeing another IRQ
number for one of the items ie Video or Audio. Yes, I could be wrong. I'm
    just guessing at your situation.

In my experience, since I usually have TWO different types of capture on my
PCs, 1st pc is ATW and ATIRFP and 2nd pc is WTVGO and DC10+ at times, things
can get messy after performing a number of and un-installs and re-installs
my IRQs get messed up, among other things like capture issues etc.

What I've done (and still do) is (I'm using windows 98 ) I go into SAFE MODE.
This will show me EVERYTHING!! Even those re-installs of drivers/hardware
devices etc. I delete them ALL. Then, I go back into regular mode and
re-install all hardware and sotfware and drivers and start over again, hopfully
in better operations (usually happens w/out flaw)

I am no XP person, but if XP has a SAFE MODE, try it out. Most likely, you'll
    have to re-install drivers, etc.

However, you did say it's operating fine

My two PCs are equipt w/ an ECS K7S5A and XP 1700+ and 1800+ w/ 256DDR ram
chips. I drop frames on my first PC (for whatever reason I wont go into here)
but on my 2nd PC, ZERO drops w/ WTVGO and NOW, DC10+ card, and I think the rest
of my cards, but haven't quite tested them yet. And, that's with VHS as my
source! You know of VHS loves droping frames. But as long as I use my WTVGO
or DC10+ card, I have ZERO drops.

As for your weird IRQ 11 and 19, I think that above issue w/ respect to some
form of IRQ conflict is causing your IRQ to NOT share the same IRQ, that's
assuming that your card normally installs w/ two IRQs, one for Video and other
    for the Audio.

Well I just changed to 24 IRQs cos my bios had that disabled.
This is a fresh install and everything is running fine.
I use powerVCR to capture and that doesn't show the dropped frames.

No way am I reinstalling everything AGAIN!!
IRQ 19 is shared with USB. IRQ 11 is on its own.

    Hi
Just looked properly yes 1 is for audio 1 is for video.
Should it be a problem that they are on different IRQs then??
