sound synch off with stand alone player but not on dvd from

for some reason my pc dvd player plays my svcd copy great but the house player plays the dvd ok but the sound is off a bit can anyone help me out with that

standalone dvd player may just suck (or old)..

check with the dvd compatability list on this website to make sure which formats your standalone can play and the max bitrates it can handle

also, try burning at no faster than 4x...faster may cause problems on standalone

also, could be cd media u using...the standalone may not like it
