Whenever i try and upgrade my firmware from 1.55 to 1.90 an error message window pops up saying 'model name of kernel part not matched'. Is this because the drive is an OEM model? Any help on this would be appriciated

Try setting it up as the master and only device on the data ide cable and see what happens. I upgraded all 3 of my A03's this way and when I opened the upgrade screen it showed the drives as A03/103. If you want to check with Pioneer's site they have a lot of info.
