So I bought a Pioneer DV-341 today from BestBuy. . supposedly their new replacement in the series. And already I have problems (I was surprised because they are so highly rated. .).
1. 2 out of 3 DVDs have a weird problem where the picture is fussy, then crystal clear, then fussy again. They were Fantasia and Fantasia2000. The non-Disney DVD worked fine. Coincedence??
2. I had made an SVCD with DVD2SVCD (taking mostly defaults)and burned the bin with Nero. The Pioneer unit doesn't recognize the tracks. . .says its a VCD but can't play it and doesn't show any tracks listed in the menu. How do I know if my SVCD is the problem or the unit??? I thought this unit could play SVCDs??? (The data structure on the CD looks ok. . .).
Any ideas??
Thanks.

I bought the 343 model from Circuit City yesterday, brought it back last night... had a "burning" color effect, especially colors close to white. I couldn't even adjust for it on my TV! Needless to say, I didn't keep it.
I guess no matter how much you THINK you have enough information about a product, the real test is when you get the thing home... I'm back using an Apex 500W (perfection incarnate, except I'll probably replace the Rom drive one day)...
