  1. I just bought a Philips DVD-723 and I've bumped into some trouble with the sound. When I play music CD's (normal or mp3's) the sound comes out noisy, kind of like when you turn up the volume too loud. This is how I've connected it
    Code:
                     TV
                      |
                      | (scart)
               Satellite box (pay channels)
                      |
           (audio) | (scart)
        ------------/ \-----------
         | |
      Stereo DVD
Both the sound through the TV and the sound through the stereo was filled with noise... I tried changing the setup so that DVD was directly connected to the stereo and this removed the noise when listening through the stereo but now the noise from the TV.

Any ideas? What I've noticed sofar I didn't get any noise when playing a normal DVD, however the noise seems louder in certain songs so I guess its dependent on the music played.

    Just a bunch of guesses..

    1) Check to make sure that you are using line-level and not pre-amped or micrphone jacks. This is moot is using digital audio interconnects.

    2) If using digital interconnects make sure that your DVD player and receiver can agree on what formats to support.

I have no ideas on the TV.

  3. Hehe, I solved it Kind of a silly error... as usual when one asks for help too quick

The satellite box volume was maxed... just lowering the volume 1 step on the box was enough to remove all noises (I tried lowering the volume of the TV and the Stereo which had no effect!)

    Thanks anyways
