  1. How many do you feel is acceptable? If you figure that PAL TV is 25 frames per second, you could theorize that you wouldn't be able to tell that 5 were gone (for NTSC). 5 out of 30 is 16%. But of course I know that frames drops usually come in big lumps. But overall, what do you think?

  2. 10-30 per 10,000 frames is acceptable to me. I only have a PIII-500, what can you do?

I actually got 720X480 with Picvideo @17 out of it with 30 drops out of about 64000. I havn't been able to repeat that feat for some reason today. That was sat tv. I got a cap going right now at 640X480 Picvideo @17 (or 18 maybe), it's at 337 drops out of 263000.

I have a PIII700 & WinTV card. I cap at 720x480 PIC MJPEG @18. I drop 11-16/hr so that's not too shabby. I use AVI_IO so their is no loss of sync.

Hi, Poplar, how can you that? I have similar processor and can capture 352 x 288 at 25 fps w/o any drops. I can also capture 720 x 572 w/o drops but quality is really bad, it not usefull.
