Hello, im going to be encoding this DV file ive been editing with Vegas Video 3, im going to be encoded it to MPEG2 for DVD, and was wondering if i should use Vegas Video's encoder or go to TMPGENC Plus' encoder, which is better, my concernis quality not speed, any help would greatly appreciated, thanks.

  2. I've used both for converting the DV to MPEG-2, and I'd say that the MainConcept MPEG-2 Encoder does a very good job (Vegas). If you want to use TMPGENc, you'll have to first render the Vegas file as AVI, then open and convert in TMPGENc.

    Personally, I don't think it's going to be worth your time to do the extra step, b/c the encoder in Vegas does an excellent job on it's own. You could try a small file first, and see if you notice any difference. I doubt you will. (and I use the DVD NTSC template in Vegas). Good luck.

  3. I'd use the VV encoder. TMPGEnc gives you more tweaking ability, but VV would probably be simpler.
