Hello, all. Now I have tried everything that I know with this problem. But I know nothing about this, so I thought I should pose it to others.

I captured all of one TV show and most of another ( ) before my machine locked up. So now I have this 34 GB avi on my drive that VDub won't open...is there anyway I will be able to open this file?

Any help would be much appreciated...

  2. What codec did you encode to? If you used Divx, there may be a way to repair it using something like DivFix (link available under tools on this website) If you used Huffyuv or something more obscure, I really don't know how you might fix this as I have very little experience with it. I find it very convenient to rip directly to MPEG or MPEG2, perhaps later converting to another format, but I have also encoded directly to Divx with surprisingly pleasing results.

    Good Luck!
