I noticed that SpruceUp makes your projects into 4:3.
How do you use IFOEdit to change the project back to 16:9. When you change it to 16:9, will it act like an anamorphic DVD (automatically letterbox the picture when the player is set to 4:3)?

open up VTS01_0.IFO in IFOEDIT and select VTSI_MAT in the top window, then look for line 00000100 and 00000200, if you double click these you can change the aspect ratio and set it to automatic letterbox.
100 is the menu and 200 is the movie, i always change the settings to the same as the original .IFO then just click save and then select yes to overwrite .BUP file -

In "Title Set" open the "Video: MPEG-2 720X480...." entry by double clicking. Set the "Aspect Ratio" to "16:9" and remove any checks from "Static". This will allow you to swtich between letterbox, pan&scan and 16:9 via your DVD player.

You can also do the menus this way, especially good if you have captured a frame (as a background) from the movie which has a widescreen ratio.
Alternatively, I suppose you could just switch to an authoring program that supports 16:9 menus and video -
Thanks for all the help, friends!
Also, I did change the menu, since I did capture the background from a movie.
