  1. Converted a DIVX movie to MPEG and when trying to burn to disk i get error " wrong format for film" tried reducing it to standard film size 352 x 288 but the sound vanished-- any help or suggestions would be appreciated

    try unchecking the box that says "perform some compliance checks"
    (something to that effect)

    What did U use to encode the DivX to VCD MPEG? I'd suggest TMPGEnc, using a template to keep the MPEG within standards. Then, when you're comfortable with making well functioning standard compliant VCD's, start stretching things a bit to tweak your results.
