  1. I am trying to make a VCD using their "Hollywood DVD Wizard"

I want to have an opening overture
    Motion menus
Video (taken from my miniDV camcorder)
-this video was input via firewire card using Ulead Video Studio
    -converted to MPEG-1 using Tmpeg
Special features (slide show of pics WITH music)
    Background picture for the menu

Here is the first snag I am running into:

    1. Creating a Slide Show
I import the pictures I have save from digital camera (JPG format)
I add in background music (It will only accept WAV or MP2)

    It "encodes" the Wav file

Sometimes it give me an error, sometimes it does not. It'll say something like "unable to mix Mpg 1 and MPG2 on the same DVD context"

    Any ideas?

What program would recommend to rip convert these MP3's and WAV's to formats Dazzel DVD Complete can definitely use?

    2. At what point during the VCD creation can I assign the chapter menu to have Motion Menus?

    3. How can I change the background music that is playing during the menu screen?

    4. How can I add in my own bakground for the menus?
After the Overture is done, the background menu goes to a 1 still image of the first video.

    Any ideas?

    5. What video format should I be using?

    6. I get error messages soemtime about "uncomplient video type for DVD" What program can I use to fix this?

    Thanks all!

Virtualdub is great for extracting audio, then a program like goldwave is great for editing audio.

I am not sure you can create motion menu's for VCD. Even creating true chapter points can be near impossible. Can be done though, I forget where the guide is.

Truthfully I am not sure is Dazzle is even the right choice for VCD. For VCD I use nero to burn mpg created with tmpgenc. If you want an all in one, there are a few options that may be better for you. I think it is SpruceUp or Ulead DVD Factory that has entry points to "chapters" on a VCD, but they are not true chapters. Only starting points, cannot use previous and next buttons.

  4. How about this message?

I have some MPEG1 movies on there,

and am trying to make a Slide Show-

It converts all the audio and pictures for the slideshow, asks me to input a name for it, and then gives me this error in the "Video Status" box

" Can not mix MPEG1 and MPEG2 Videos in the same project context"

Audio Status Box is listed as "DVD Compliant"

    Anyone???

  5. I keep changing the menus to "motion menus" but when I go to the preview screen, they are back to "still menus"

Good Grief! What is going on???

It can't bea VCD issues (a previous poster said motion menus might only work on DVD) beasue I have not told the software yet I want it for VCD or DVD

Are there ANY people out there that use this program??

The preview does not show motion menus. Make the disc to hard drive then test. If you like it burn it.
