  2. http://www.vcdhelp.com/ATI_AIW_Guide.htm

follow that link - it will help you get the most out of your AIW with MMC 7.x (that guide is for VCD compatible only but it's a great place to start!)

like it says dont use the software provided by ATI on the install CD - download all the latest drivers

the mp2 is the way ATI names MPEG-2 files --- after you install the latest DVD update your file player will play them.

There are many discussions on how best to use your ATI AIW-- xVCD xSVCD VCD SVCD or to AVI via Virtual Dub

read up on these discussion - search this forum - and your sure to find help from some very helpful/knowledgeable users

    enjoy

  3. On other thing - after you follow the guide for VCD's you can burn those file directly with Nero or Adaptec EZ CD Creator - the final step (Re-multiplexing) is only if you plan to author them with them in the Philips Video CD 2.0

  6. you really should read slower

like I said before - update the software from ATI and the ATI file player will play your mp2 after that

you can also play them with WinDVD or PowerDVD

    it's an MPEG-2 file

if you want to play it right now - set up a custom profile and capture to MPEG-1 instead of MPEG-2 and it will play right away in Windows Media Player

  7. Go to the Tools listed on the left side of this page, and download a free mpeg-2 software player.

  8. no need to install a free mpeg-2 player that will add a watermark on playback when if you update form the ATI website you can play MPEG-2 files.
