  1. Hi

Im tring to capture from VCR. After alot of hassle i managed to get XP to recognise the DVC device which in turn has enabled the capture software to recognise ther DVC as a video source.

As yet i can get no preview, let alone do any capturing. When i go into settings in Videowave it informs me that there is "no signal or line".

Connections are: SCART with L/R audio and composite video out of VCR to inputs on DVC. DVC connects via USB.

Q: Do i still require a capture card?
Any suggestions why i hear and see nothing?

    Thanks

  2. I also have a DVC80...don't use the bundled software that came with it - it sucks!...use something like iuVCR, which works well for Win2K and XP...hope this helps!

  3. Thanks dubie, i'll try it out.

As you made no comment about connections or cards i assume that what i've done so far is ok (?).

Despite the bundled software being crap, surely i should still be able to get a preview?

Are you using a capture card?

Sorry for all the questions but to be quite frank the bundled documentation is a bloody joke!!!

  4. oops...sorry for getting back to this one so late!

forget about the bundled software that came with DVC80 - it's crap!

you don't need another capture card..the DVC80 should work as one.

Make sure however, that you have the latest DVC80 drivers for XP...

...hope this works, I'm still quite a newbie at this, but it's been going ok so far!
