  1. I cap shows and am just getting into svcd and wondered what I should set my default bitrate to in order to fit roughly 43 minutes on. Say 45 for if the show is on the longer side.

What has better compatibility with standalone DVD player CBR or VBR so I can choose which one to use. Plus when I capped VCD I chunked them into sections that start and end at commercials but was wondering if that would decrease compatibility in DVD players since alot don't run svcd's in the first place

I have the audio set to 224 kbit/s

No DVD player yet so I am making these for on the computer and in anticipation of a DVD player

Niether CBR or VBR is more compatible on a dvd player for SVCD. Using multiple tracks should not be a problem either.

If your movie is 40 mins or less than just use CBR 2.5mbits and burn on an 80 min cdr. Anything longer and either use a lower CBR or use multipass VBR. Use a bitrate calculator to determine what bitrate to use. I recommend FitCD.
