  1. I was wondering if everybody has this problem. I am constantly downloading stuff and sometimes want to burn CD's while I'm downloading, but it seems I can only do one or the other. Everytime I try to burn and DL I either get a buffer underrun or a lock up on the DL. Is this avoidable? I have a PIII 500 mhz, 384 MB RAM, 8200 HP 4x burner using Nero to burn. Does the new burners with burnproof pervent this. Just curious if I could buy a new burner or do something about it. Sucks to only do one at a time.

Seems to me that while the burner is trying to get info from the hard drive the file you're downloading is messing up the burner's constant stream of info. You might want to invest in a Burn-Proof writer.

Or... a 2nd hard drive using a separate ATA100 slot.

Or just learn to do one thing at a time until you get a better computer.

When I'm burning a CD, even though I can do other computer stuff while its being written, I use this time as an opportunity to experience life away from the computer.
