Does anybody know how to make a copy of DVD PlayStation 2 disk?
It's not like DVD to Video. I want to be able to play backup of the game on PS2.

Since this isn't related to VCD/SVCD or DVD authoring I'll make this quick. You can't make a TRUE 1:1 copy of PS2 DVD disk. You can copy the data off of the disk just like any other DVD-Rom disk but no dvd-rom/writer can read or write the copy protection data that is on the original PS2 dvd-rom. You need a mod chip or some sort of swap technique to play copied (which is highly illegal) PS2 disks.

I don't know of any way in which you could back up a PS2 DVD. Even the CDs are very heavily copy-protected.

Your best bet is to get in contact with the company who make the software you need to back up. If the disc is ruined, they will tell you to send it back and in return they will provide a replacement. Unfortunately, there may be a charge for this.

Havent done it my self yet but i know its possible but you will need a mod chip, www.liksang.com, look for the magic2 chip or messiah chip it boots DVD-R, i plan to as soon as i get my burner, my brother is always scratching my discs this way he can scatch the back up without screwing up my originals, go to www.consolecopyworld.com, they have tons of info and utilties for this stuff, good luck , let me know how it goes.

Copyiong and Modding a PS2 to ply a backup game is no more illegal than copying any other dvd movie.

Copying a PS2 game is illegal. Man what are you thinking? Your the kind of people that ruin the names of others.
If you want the game...go out and buy it. If you want a back up...go out and buy it.

From what I've heard - Nero will copy a psx2 dvd no prob.

I guess u will need the mod-chip - but a pc game is so much cheaper and better (such as gta 3) so why bother in the 1st place.

Also , psx2 dvd playback is mighty poor as opposed to a cheap dvd player - as it plays back at svcd resolution (not quality i might state!)
