What region code is required for a svcd playback on my dvd?

l have no problem playing my svcd on my dvd player which is fairly new a (philips) it plays automatically. But they do not play on my friends dvd players etc what region code does a svcd play at? and apparently there is a site where you can get the intructions step by step to change your region code on a dvd players... l'm in europe in that helps.

SVCD doesn't have a region code (only DVDs). The reason it won't play is an issue with your friends player (a lot of players either don't play them at all or are very particular that they are perfectly compliant in order to play or even particular about which particular brand of cd-r they are on).
