  1. I have a divx .avi file that I converted to .mpg
Using virtualdub I see that the fps is 23.976
It says to use the ntscfilm template.
I already converted it and accidentally used the ntsc template instead of the film one.
Will this come out better if I use the film as opposed to the non.
I realize the frames per second is different but will this make a big difference when watching???
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

Yes, it will be jerky, and will be most noticable in scenes with lots of movement. You may possibly find this acceptable. Provided your player will accept NTSC(film) then that is the best template to use. Since I am in a PAL area I first convert the DivX to PAL and use the PAL template.

  3. I did notice the file was a little hard to watch on my dvd player...I guess it was that jerkiness. It is weird though because it isn't really super noticeable to the naked eye. It was only after watching for a few minutes that it seemed tough to watch. I will try it in the ntscfilm format. Thanks.

  4. Also, the picture will look better because you have less frames to encode so there's more bits for each frame.
