I am looking for a DVD drive that will let me rip DVDs to the hard drive. What is the difference between rom and ram and also what is the difference between DVD-r and DVD+r. All replies are appreciated. THanks!

Most pc dvd drives will allow you to rip the movie to the hard drive.
DVD-r & DVD+r are two different types of DVD standards, DVD-r & DVD+r are writeable DVD formats that can be used in consumer DVD players. I would say that DVD-r is more compatible with home DVD players, although Philips who are pushing DVD+r would disagree.
Check with DVD Players on this web site for compatability.-----------------------------------
Thanks for all the cheese
