I am converting DIVX films to SVCD to play on a stand alone DVD player but the play back (although good quality) seems to stutter right through both CD's.
My question is, would this be caused by the FPS?
I convert the films to NTSC with TMPEGnc, they play fine on the PC but stuttery on the DVD player. When I have looked it says that NTSC is best for the likes of the USA and PAL for europe, should I be using PAL as I am from the UK or does this not cause the problem I am having?
cheers

yeah, just use pal only ...25frames per second.. Try and get films that 25frames a second as different frame rates require a bit more know how to get them spot on to play in a pal machine.

do you know the framerate of your source Divx?
that's what you should use for your final framerate.
do a small test for sources that are not in your native format(PAL)
it may play without a problem, allowing you to skip all of the framerate conversion stuff. I'm in the US, and I can play PAL SVCD's without a problem.what are you askin' me for...
I'm an idiot!
