I remember reading in an article on cnet that toshiba (i think) is developing a chip capable of decoding mpeg4 video. The chip is being developed for portable devices (phones, PDAs, etc...) but couldn't it be used as a hardware based mpeg4 player (maybe even DivX). maybe a company like empeg would build it? or maybe even some asian hardware comapny![]()
