I'd like to try VCDeasy but it says my ASPI layer is not acceptable. The site gives very clear advice about installing Adaptecs ASPI layer (version 4.6 I think).
If my system works well now and I have no trouble burning CD's etc will messing with my ASPI layer screw things up? The site mentions how to back up your ASPI configuration but I don't understand about running a script that is a .bat file. I know how to run a program but not how to run a script.
I'm just wondering if others have done this on a windows XP computer and had good results.
Thanks

Probably not but you should probably do a "System Restore Point" just in case.
If you are burning well with Nero, it "shouldn't" affect it as it uses its own ASPI drivers (I think).

I had to do this yesterday on XP to try and get VCDEasy to work - and it did.
I used the 'ForceASPI' drivers which installed without any problems - and NERO still works as it should.
I agree with 'vitualis' - before doing the update, do a 'System Restore Point' - it may save you a lot of heartache if your run into problems.
