Conversion problems!

Hi, i downloaded a movie (.avi) and im trying to convert it using TMPGEnc.
However when i add my movie the screen is just black, all the way through. I was wondering if anybody could tell me why, and how to fix it.

Select options > environmental settings
click the VFAPI plug-in tab
right click the "DirectShow" and select higher priority, do this several times until its at the top with a value of 4

Make sure you have the codec
