I have looked on the section where it says compatibility and I am unsure since there is a question makr next to all of the DVD Recordable formats....I am wondering if anyone who owns this Pioneer 5 Disc Changer has any idea if they have tried it and could tell me what format(s) work. Second, I am going to make this a 2 part question, which is the best kind of DVD Recordable drive for a computer to buy and which format(s) are becoming the standard?? Need help since this is a big purchase!!

I have a Pioneer C-503, but I don't have a DVD burner. So I haven't tested it myself. The safe bet is all Pioneer DVD players should play DVD-R and DVR-RW, because Pioneer is one big player in the DVD-R/DVD-RW camp. Why on earth its own products should be incompatible with each other? Can they be that stupid?

I have the C503 and the DVR-104 burner by Pioneer. The changer will play DVD-R's and DVD-RW's created by the 104. The only problem I've noticed is some jerky playback using cheapo DVD-R media. The Imation blanks I purchased at CompUSA work great (DVD-Rs).
I have not tried either DVD+R or DVD+RW.
I bought the DVR-104 from Esbuy.com and have been very pleased with it. Hope the info helps. -
Thanks for all the responses..I hope youre both right as I am looking at the DVD Burners..I will surely look at the pioneer system for sure.!!
