Lately my win xp system is acting very stopy(if thats a good description) it s working in stops and starts. every four or five sconds it stalls for like a tenth of a second (only noticible when mobing the mouse) This has got rid of my capturing abilities completely.

    Any help well appreciated.

I have this prob once in a while. I find a simple reset usually fixes it.

If it doesn't it's a sign my cpu is overheating.

Thanks for the reply, I have had this problem for a few months now and so reseting it defenetly aint going to work. As for the first guy, I think you may be on to something. Do you know what fixed it exactly?

    Norton utilitties?
How do i make it scan for bad files?

    baker,
This might sound like a stupid question, but have you tried doing a clean install of your OS? You said you've been dealing with this for months, but never mentioned if you did so. Sometimes your better off biting the bullet and reformating.
