Audio Sync Problem with TMPGeng

Ya it's a newbie question.

Have ripped alot of movies without any prob. But now i'm not able to get the Audio to sync properly.

I'v ripped the DVD to VOB with CladDVD, then iv ripped the audio with
Dvd2avi as i always has done(not mp3 compressed). All seems ok

Then when i'm going to make the movie with TMPGenc it works almost perfectly, i'm always doing a little test movie to see if it's ok, but it's not. The audio is up to several minutes wrong. And when trying to sync the audio by correcting it with TMPGenc it also seems to work but just for the first minute or so, then it goes out of sync again.

I always rip the sound in 44100khz should i change that ??
One other thing i'm doing in Dvd2avi is enable the normalization, have done this before and get higher audio on the outcome, something here maybe??

Any other SW that you recomend?

problem may be that you are trying to rip a NTSC(29.76fps or 23.976fps) onto a PAL(25fps) Template or vice versa.

Make sure that if the disc you are ripping from is PAL, that you use a PAL template, and that if the disc you are ripping from is NTSC that you use the NTSC template.

If you check that out and it all seem to be sweet, then do the following.

Open up the VOB's in DVD2AVI and then press teh F5 key on your keybord. Check where it says "Frame Rate" and write that number down.

If "Frame Rate" = "25.000 fps" then use the "VCD (PAL)" template
If "Frame Rate" = "29.760 fps" then use the "VCD (NTSC)" template
If "frame Rate" = "23.976 fps" then use the "VCD (NTSC FILM)" template

Then when burning to VCD make sure you have the VCD options in your burning software set to match the template. (if you use a PAL template, set the VCD option in the burning program to PAL)

Hmmmm.

You actually might got something there "dick_p_t"

The movie i'v ripped now is a pal movie, in the dvd2avi it reports:
Pal 24000 frames since none of the templates in TMPGenc has this framerate i took the nearest match 23,97 NTSC-Film.

Have now actually tried to set it to what it should be Pal and pal film. But still no luck.

Is there any way i can re-encode the moviepart only to ie. PAL-25000fps
and then add the audio. Could this do the trick??

theres a tool called "Vob Tools 0.06" that can change the frame rate within Vob files. you can get it from http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/encoding_vobutils.html

I have never used it b4 so i dont know how it will go.

But give it a try and let me know how you get on.

I've had a similar problem in the past. I found that when you process the vob files and audio through dvd2avi you end up with 2 video files and 1 audio. I was using the video file that is produced by dvd3avi and the audio file but found they were out of sync dramatically (minutes). I used the other video file (vts_03.dv2 i think) and found it to be in sync perfectly. These files show up in TMPGenc when choosing source files. Hope that helpful.
