  2. First off, your Post's Subject Title makes it look like you want to convert MPEG to AVI. However, your actual post reads as if you have a non-VCD compliant MPEG and you want to convert it over to a VCD "compliant" MPEG.

That is pretty easy. In fact, if you look to your left you will see a green "How To" section. Select "Convert" and select "How to encode to VCD with TMPGEnc beta 12e+".

TMPGEnc is the "favorite" MPEG Encoder around here at VCDHelp.

The program is easy to use... run the program, browse to load your source file, select LOAD at the bottom of the page to load the proper VCD Template and hit START to make the conversion.

That's the $0.02 tour at least... there is much more to this animal. Look around... you'll find all kinds of neat tricks for TMPGEnc as well as many other tools of the trade.

    Good luck!

  4. Can you play the Original Source file in any software player on your computer?

If not then most likely you are missing a Video Codec.

Go to the Tools Download page here at VCD Help:

    www.vcdhelp.com/vcdtools.htm#codecs

and download the latest DivX and Huffyuv Codecs. The most likely culprit here is the DivX codec but it is always a good idea to have Huffyuv on your machine as well.

Install these codecs and try again.

Is TMPGEnc giving you an error, just displaying a black screen, outputing a black screen or what?

Can you even open the MJPEG file in TMPGEnc? Do you see it in the Browse/Open Dialog? If not, rename the extension to ".MPG" or ".MPEG" and try again. See if TMPGEnc will open it now.

Read where it says "If you have problem open DV video, DC30+,MJPEG captured video"

Had this problem myself. The fix is easy.
