  1. How do I convert some of mine NTSC VCD's to PAL formatted VCD's? I know that there are different framerates and color formats between the two.
But could someone give me a quick guide on what I have to do for converting the NTSC VCD to PAL VCD.

  2. you could start by looking here:

but the question has to be asked, are you sure you need to do this. AFAIK, all european DVD players will play both PAL and NTSC without problems. Some will convert NTSC to Pal 60 (60 fields or 30 frames per second Pal) and others output as NTSC. Also, nearly all european TV's sold within recent years (and I mean 10 years plus!) will handle both Pal 60 and NTSC perfectly.

Of course if you are in a non-eurpean Pal using country (Australia?) then this may not be the case for you and conversion is therefore required.

    Hope this helps

  3. well I was at europe couple a days ago and I checked out some of my own made XVCD's on a friends phillips dvd player and there was some frequent pauses every 15-25 seconds. I mean the XVCD's worked fine in the U.S.. Then it hit me, that could it have been because of the NTSC configuration on my XVCD's that didn't work on his PAL DVD player.
But besides that I checked out the user guides thanks.

But I got one more question, is there a way I could make the VCD's universal (both PAL & NTSC)?

  4. I don't think the problem is NTSC or PAL, but XVCD as your memtioned that created a problem. Not all dvd/vcd player can handle XVCD very well. First you should check DVD Player on the left menu to see if your friend's player can handle XVCD. Then try standard VCD in NTSC format with your friend's player.
