ntsc tape on pal vcr to virtual dub

i have a panasonic pal vcr that plays ntsc tapes which i'm attempting to capture with virtual dub, but cannot get a clear or full color picture for the ntsc tapes (pal is fine) is their any adjuments with virtual dub i need to do or adjustments with frame rates etc to get a good picture. I'm using videobus ii

What you may find is that your PAL vcr is playing the NTSC tape ok, but is outputting a PAL60 signal instead of true PAL.

This being the case, about the only way you can capture properly is to use dscaler, and set the video format as pal60. Feel free to correct me, but I'm not aware of any other app that will capture PAL60 as a discrete format

A problem to be aware of here is that, depending on your capture card, dscaler may not capture the audio track when capturing the video - if so, you'll need to run the video through something like VirtualDub just to capture the soundtrack.

You can then use your app of choice to re-mux and convert to mpg

Any app will do, if you have installed drivers for your capture card that have an option of setting TV format to PAL60. I have captured NTSC VHS with my PAL VCR using btwincap drivers for Bt 878 and VirtualDub synch as the capturing software.

What is this Videobus II of yours, is a Brooktree based capture card? If yes, you can probably also use btwincap.sourceforge.net drivers.

ok then,
I have a pinnicle dc10+
I cannot get this card to play pal60, has fits actually.
any suggestions?
