I use the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live Value card for audio, and I recently downloaded the most recent suite of drivers and software from the Creative Labs website. In playing around with the Play Center 2 software, I was surprised to disciver that it is supposed to be able to play DVDs and VCDs.
I tried without success to play any of the SVCDs I have burned. I do not have a DVD drive on my computer, nor do I have any VCDs, so I have not tested it with either of those alternatives.
My SVCDs were created by frameserving from Adobe Premiere to TMPGEnc, then burned with some piece of trial software from Ulead. They all played without a problem in my Pioneer standalone unit.
I have tried with both CD drives installed in my computer, one of which is a Creative Labs 121032 CDRW, the other a generic 40x read only.
Does anyone know whether Play Center 2 is supposed to identify and play SVCDs, and if so how I can get it to recognize my SVCDs?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Eric J.

It might be able to play the .mpg files out of the mpeg2 directory on the disk, but most players don't support SVCD. The only good one that I know of is WinDVD.
