Vdub wont load Mpeg 2, TMPGEnc Plus needs a mpeg 2 codec to edit SVCD's

Install Power DVD 4, and it should work with TMPGEnc Plus. If you have the trial 30 day TMPGEnc, try installing the Nimo codec pack

  3. Virtualdub opens Mpg2 files but needs a plugin try divx.digest or videotools.net to find it

So does your DVD player play SVCD or not ? Burning it with Nero wont help if your DVD player wont play them.

Load an SVCD template in TMPGEnc to make the SVCD

  8. try to get in mind that SVCD is a mpg file but it must have the standard settings:
mpg2 / frame size 480x576 at 25 fps for PAL or 480x480 at 29.97 fps for NTSC / bit-rate up to 2520 kbps / audio up to 224 kbps stereo/dual st.

    so
you must open your file.mpg in tmpgenc open the svcd template and encode to mpg2 svcd compliant and burn as svcd
or try the settings of CVD that´s «same» as svcd but the frame size is 352x576 for PAL and 352x480 for NTSC
