TmpgEnc DirectShow / Direct X

Hey Guys, I haven't been around in a while. Probably a lot of new people here. Hi.

I've had this problem before with Tmpgenc - It locks up when using the MPEG Tools -> Merge and Cut. I'm sure there's no problem with the way I'm doing the edit setup. Here's what I do: I set the temp/save .mpg file -> select my file to edit ->open my file to edit by double-clicking it -> then I try to set an edit marker but it locks up. Tmpgenc Not Responding. End Task.

I think it's a software conflict between the DirectShow or Direct X drivers I have on Win2K with my ATI AIW 128 16mb AGP card and some old conflicting software. Anyone know how to fix this problem. I've reinstalled Direct X 8.1, but it hasn't made any difference. The preview window works fine when I encode. So it's not a codec problem.



Last time I just restored my OS, but I'd like to really fix the problem.
Any thoughts?

Hello Bong...

Have you found a solution to this problem???
I am having the exact same difficulties, everything plays fine but i cannot
edit an mpg file with TMPGENC.
As soon i click edit, the edit window pops up and there's nothing i can do.

I think it has something to do with the vfapi because i noticed another post with same problem, but i tried uninstalling en re-installing the tmpgencvfp_install.bat and nothing changed...

well...if u have a solution...let me know

I found a solution!

Download nimo codec pack final 5 build 8.

Install these filters / codecs,

(i allready had divx codecs, so i didnt install those...)

-xvid
-huffyuff
-microsoft mpeg 4
-3ivx
--------------------------------
-avisynth
-vfapi codec reader (<<< i guess this one does the job...)
--------------------------------
-all audio codecs
--------------------------------
-ffd show direct show
-lame
-vobsub
-subtitle filter
-ogg vorbis directshow
-subtitler directshow
-vob directshow filters
-ac3
-------------------------------

These are all the codecs i installed and none of the others...
NOW....tmpgenc works when cutting svcd mpeg... yai
