ok i just burned a disc and it won't play on the PS2 (distortion, and then it doesn't even play) but plays fine on the computer. i figured it was the ps2 being a crap dvd player, so i tried on a JVC set top player and it reads but the actor's motion is not fluid.
do you think that the maximum bitrate is too high? or could it also be possible that i incorrectly selected top-field first when it should have been bottom-field first?
i think i set the min to 1000, average to 3400, and max to 9200 with a 384 kbps ac3 track. 9200+384 < 9800 so in theory this should work.
also, i heard that selecting "dvd compliant" in CCE might push bitrates over the max? what would happen if i didn't select that? would it still be a valid dvd video file?
