  1. Alright, I'm having some extremely bizarre issues with my Hollywood magic card that just started a couple of days ago. I wasn't able to rip Kate and Leopold OR Shallow Hal (errors in the middle...and the first time I have been unable to rip anything) now I can't imagine how that would have anything to do with the problems I'm having but here goes. Now suddenly, when I try to play DVDs through my Hollywood Magic card when I get to the opening menu I get no live links (i.e. I can't actually start the movie or the chapter selections...etc.) Ocassionally, after pressing the menu button several times I WAS able to start the movie...but then I was treated to a garbled sound and then a total freezeup. Thinking it was the rental DVD I tried several from my collection to the same result. Then I thought it might be my DVD drive pooping out....but all the DVDs play very well through WinDVD. So I uninstalled Hollywood Magic, reinstalled the drivers, installed the newest drivers and player...nothing. It still plays .mpg and mpeg2 files from the hard drive beautifully. I just can't figure it out. The only thing I can think of is I moved my modem to a different PCI slot recently...should I open up my rig and switch the Hollywood Magic card to a different slot? HELP!

  2. I hate to bump but I am still having issues. I found that DMA on my DVD drive had been mysterious checked (it doesn't support it) so I unchecked it and now when I start the movie in DVDStation it just whirls endlessly...finding nothing. But it still plays fine in WinDVD. I was sort of hoping it was a problem with my DVD drive (since I want an excuse to replace it) but I think it may actually be a hardware issue with Hollywood magic...sigh. I'll try moving it to another PCI slot tonight...but I'm not hopeful.

p.s. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
