  1. All of my .avi files have the file property of MS-MPEG4V3. All attempts to convert them have not worked. Do i need to change them to DIVXMPG4V3? They all play in WMP so I would assume the codecs are correct. I am so new to this. Music sure is easier. Any suggestions? Thanks

    Well I have a lot of those and can convert them with no problems. Vdub or TMPENG etc. Maybe you have one of those locked codecs that let you play only ?

    Try downloading another codec, I downloaded these files;

    DivX4a48.exe
    DivX4CodecInstaller.exe
    Mpeg4 Codec.exe
    Smr mpeg avi divx.exe

    They seam to cover just about everything.
