I need to burn an mpg into a VCD with 3 switchtable subtitles (english, spanish and german). So far I can only put 1 subtitle (ssa format) to it using Virtual Dub with subtitle filter and frameserving to TMPGEnc, that's no problem.
For multiple subtitles I use MaestroSBT to convert the subtitles from ssa to submux and then I use WinSubMux to multiplex the subtitles with the mpeg, after many (many) hours of processing, the resulting mpeg file is the same as the one I used as input, no subtitles (not even in the standalone dvd player). Am I doing anything wrong? Is there a better way to do this? Can this be done with VCD (not SVCD)?
thanks.

As far as I know, you can't add several subtitles to a VCD. You have to make a SVCD. And even then, odds are that your standalone DVD player won't support the switchable subs
But I'm just a newbie, so you'd better listen to what the pros on this site says. -
Thanks EmptyMy, that could be a good reason... My standalone DVD player support switchable subs (according to vcdhelp.com listings). The problem with SVCD is that they occupy more space...
Ok, I'll see, thanks.
