Tmpgenc calculated the bitrate for my file to fit on a 80 min cd in svcd format, but when I try to burn it with nero, I'm all the way in the red zone. Why is that? How come I have another movie in same format, same size and that one fits fine?

Same file size, or same time? SVCD is generally VBR, Variable Bit Rate, so file size will vary with the amount of motion in that particular video.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
CBR mode I believe, and the files were same SIZE, Tmpgenc calculated the bitrate, so why won't it fit?

oooooooooohhhhhh! It was in VBR mode, so that's why it was bigger than expected. So tmpgenc does not accomodate for that then when you use 2 pass vbr?
