    Hiya Peeps

Wondering if anyone can help me on this?

I'm trying to convert a SVCD Mpeg file to DVD Mpeg2 format using the latest version of TMPGenc. I've read the "how to" docs but I keep getting the same error which is "Read error occured at address 0049C8DB of module 'TMPGENC.EXE' with 01BA41A3". Can anyone HELP!!!!!

Before I get flamed I have done a couple of searchs on this in the forums and only found references to a similar problem when converting from AVI (Bad frames etc etc)....but from what I can gather AVI is Different to MPEG so I can't use the same fix as the ones suggested..

Cheers for any help on this, as It's doing my head in!!!!

there is NO point in converting a svcd to a dvd "format" since both are mpeg2 already . and increasing the bitrate will not make it look any better ... in fact often worse ...

you might want to convert/demultiplex the audio is all as some players dont like mpeg audio and also some authoring programs dont accept the multiplexed audio and video

only time i could see having to recompress the video is if the gop struture is out of dvd spec - or some svcd mpegs are thrown out by the authoring program because of temperal errors .. or the fps is out of spec
