I know what you'll say about this, *use the newbies guide to fitting it onto 1 cd*and yes, i have done this and i must say it has worked great on my cuzzins dvd player, but for some reason when i change the bitrate to adjust it to fit on 1 vcd for my napa dav-311 vcd player, it will play in really fast motion and the voices will sound chipmunky. I think i know what the problem is - my vcd player is a very cheap one and cant handle me configuring with the movie using TMPGEnc, but isnt there a way to get around all this??

P.S. Sorry before how i bumped my post an hour after it was created -

You need to put them on 2 VCD's, they are fully compliant which looks like your DVD player wants.

  5. hi

your best bet is to download another encoder from here then see if it does the samething because different programs might do the same thing but there is a sight difference in same and that there is different profiles of vcds .

  6. Maybe your player cannot take , XVCD, which is a another name for a non-standard vcd.
Take care and be well to eachother

  7. It is possible. Take your 700mb - 800mb file which played fast and make a non standard SVCD. It will work, honestlty. SVCD are supposed to have different bitrates. Give it a shot

I THINK I MIGHT HAVE FOUND AN ANSWER!!

On google i searched dav-311 bitrate settings and i found a template to download that said it would stop all the jerkiness of my home vcds for my napa dav-311 vcd player. Right now i am creating a test vcd using the template. I hope it works!!!

for some reason my player wouldn't like me changing it from pal\ntsc right before the movie started, so around 2 seconds after the movie was playing I pushed ntsc and it played fine!!! YES!!!!!!

I have burnt about six discs now using the NAPA DAV311 TMPEGEnc template and it has solved the jerky playback, which is a huge relief!

Can the Napa play X-VCD's or am I asking too much of a cheap player?

Also, has anyone found a way of encoding mp3's, so that the annoying harmonised vocoder gone wrong sound is removed. It makes most of my mp3's with high pitched sounds, seem really awful and sick inducing!!
