I seem to be having a problem with removing commercials from my DivX recordings with Vdub. When I capture to mpeg-1 first and then edit the file and conver it to DivX all is well. However if I try to edit my existing DivX captures I can never make an exact cut and a few seconds of the commercial always get in even though they don't show up on vdub preview. Should I decrease my max keyframe interval?

Nope, I used both scene detection (at various levels of sensetivity) or manually went the the exact frame.

Keyframe.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -
In my Divx captures, I set 30 as the maximum interval between keyframes. It will ONLY cut on a keyframe, regardless where you set the sliders.
Lower the interval to 30 or 15 as I have, and things will work great.
