how many files are you sharing? people on Kazaa have a tendency to cut you off if you are sharing very few or no files

Probably the Program watches you with its eyes!!!!
KaZaA is full of spyware and trojans that track you and use your computer power.
Try
KaZaA Lite.
It's a hacked version of the original without any trojan or spy and ads.
Your problem maybe your internet connection.
To keep it alive ping somewhere -t continuously. -

Telstra and Optus have agreed to filter out the P2P ports commonly used.
This means in most cases you get very poor performance. -

I haven't tried their service - but I can't have any faith in a ISP named after a extinct grounded bird commonly known as the dumdest animal on the planet.

If you mean that when you stop using the computer but continue to stay conected to Kazaa the download rate slows right down I also had this problem. I found that using a program which moves your mouse automatically a couple of times a minute kept the download rate high. Bizzarre but it works. Hope this helps...

mgs2 open kazaa, click 'tools'->'find media to share' and select which folders you want to share
-
download Morpheusx.
It will constantly scroll through your Kazalite downloads and keep looking for better or faster d\l speed connections."Today is only yesterdays tomorrow" -

mgs2 Here are a couple more things you could try to boost speed:
1) click tools->options->advanced and check the 'do not function as a supernode' option
2) once you have started a file downloading, go into traffic, right click on the file and select 'find more sources for download'
as for sharing more files, just select all the folders on your PC which contain any mp3s/Emulators/Movies/Images. If you don't have any files to share then you can't really do much until you get more. -
thanks you guys this is helping heaps but there is a problem with the sharing files thing
when i go into the "share media files" bit it says that i only have one file to share which i know is wrong as i have heaps of movies on my computer and then when i click to share it it stil; says i am not sharing any files? and also kazaa lite isn't letting me access the "my kazaa" section when i try to go in it just freezes and says kazaa isn't responding?wasup -
To make sure you have it in the correct folder go to:
Tools > Options > Traffic > Folder for downloading files...."Today is only yesterdays tomorrow" -

You could also try downloading More Source Finder for Kazaa... it's a crappy little program, but it does the job. All it does is automatically perform the Find More Sources for Download function at an interval you get to set. This is great for me, because I find that when I monitor my downloads and regularly tell kazaa to find more sources, I get at least 10 times the transfer rates I do when I'm not monitoring downloads. e.g., I'll go to sleep downloading a really popular file I should be getting great rates on, and when I go to sleep my rates will in fact be at around 100 kbps. When I wake up, they'll be down to around 2 kbps, and after just five or six requests to find more sources for download, it'll be back to bearable rates. Sounds like it does the same thing as morpheusx, which someone mentioned above (morpheusx is probably better than the program I'm talking about... this one really sucks). Maybe when you said "offline" you meant you weren't monitoring your downloads?
